Wedding Locations and Choosing the Right One for Your Special Day

Tuesday, December 4, 2012

Location is everything, or so the saying goes, but when it comes to venues for your special day, that may be a tough one to call. You want the perfect spot to say your vows to one another, but how do you find that ideal spot?
The key to wedding locations is in being clear about what exactly you are looking for. The more detailed oriented you can be, the better will you be at scouting out the site that will not just meet some of your needs for your nuptials, but all of them.
What do you do when it comes to looking for dream wedding locations? Asking other married couples where they got married is a start. While you may not want to do exactly what they did, it gives you a place to begin.
Map out your guest list. Before scoping out ideal wedding locations it helps to know how many guests you plan to invite. Figure out who you absolutely cannot live without at your wedding and work from there. If you are planning a big event on a tight budget, do not be afraid to keep the list of invited guests short. Do not go overboard in the money department for wedding planning!
Speaking of your budget, exotic wedding locations may seem very romantic and a dream come true but you need to decide whether you can afford to get married on a cruise in the Mediterranean or at a resort in Cuba. The place you choose to have your ceremony will be special and enchanting no matter where you have it. The last thing you want to do is to go into debt to begin your new life as a recently married couple.
The style that you wish to have for your special day needs to factor into your choice of venue for your big event. Are you planning to have an intimate ceremony with only close family and friends, or are you planning a big fancy extravaganza with lots of dancing and celebrating?
Outdoor wedding locations and the dates for them need to take into consideration the season and the time of the year. Seasonal changes and weather will affect your special occasion so think about that when looking at various venues. You may love the autumn season, but if you live in a part of the world that gets a lot of rain in October, having an indoor ceremony and reception would make more sense for everyone.
The same can be said for other spots that may be of interest to you. You may desire a beach wedding in Acapulco but if you cannot afford a destination wedding, plan a beach service on your grandparents' property- just not in the wintertime! You may have to change the date for your nuptials if the venue has a seasonal association.
