Spectacular Maze of Spitfire Plane in Britain

Monday, July 18, 2011
Farmer Tom Percy became known after making several corn field mazes in Britain. A big project he has done was marking the 70th anniversary of The Battle of Britain by making a huge maze that looks like a Spitfire fighter plane. He managed to do so by using GPS technology, and that is why he only needed one week to finish the famous World War II plane. It is measured to be one of the biggest mazes in the world, and it is no wonder, because it is the size of 8 football fields, that means over 1000 feet in length.

This is not his first maze; he has done several others and is now quite known for it. It is really a beautiful image when seen from the air, and under the plane there is a writing that says: “Never Forget 1940-2010”. World War II scenarios have been illustrated in many ways: take a look at these spectacular old WWII photographs from the Hungarian photographer Robert Capa.
