You have probably heard about American project Echelon which is used by American intelligence to intercept different communication signals from all ower the world. They are pretty famous by their mysterious sphere-like shape. Well, United States are not the only who made such buildings. Russians made a few of them which are almost exactly same as those in US but Russians used them for a little bit different purpose.
Here you can see an abandoned complex of buildings which used to be Russian anti-missile defense system, long time ago. They are located near Russia’s capital, Moscow and this anti-missile system is known by it’s codename A-135.
It was built during Cold War in 1971. The purpose of this complex was to eventually discover and destroy any balistic missile which enters Russian air space. Luckily, the system was never used and now it is completely abandoned and open to visitors.
