World’s Most Expensive Gold-Plated Barbecue Grill
If you have money to burn, this $164,000 gold-plated barbecue-grill made
by BeefEater Barbecues should be at the the top of your spending list.
Sure, this hand-made Signature Series 6 Burner SL400 looks good has some nice built-in features like a wok burner, warming rack and roasting hood, but will it make your steaks taste better? Probably enough, and the creators of the grill themselves say they made it for people ‘want to make a statement with their barbecue and have the money to burn’. ‘Why would anyone want to make a statement with their barbecue?’, you ask? Maybe because they just got bored of gold phones, gold-plated cars, have eaten enough gold-plated food and need something new to attract attention.
The one-of-a-kind barbecues is covered with 24 carat gold, except for the actual grilling surface, and was created for the 2008 Sydney Home Show, for an estimated $60,000. Now, the price has gone up to $164,000.

‘Running of the Brides' in New York City
The Running of the Brides is a local tradition that has taken place
since 1947 at Filene's Basement store in downtown Boston. On this day
hundreds of brides-to-be and bridesmaids alike scramble for bargains at
the one-day sale of wedding gowns. The sale is also held at Filene's
once a year including Chicago, Cleveland, Atlanta, and Los Angeles.

The annual sale is known for its long queues and frantic shopping among brides-to-be hoping to save hundreds or even thousands of dollars on designer wedding gowns. The store stocks thousands of gowns for that day, and marks them down drastically. Prices vary from $250 to $700, marked down from retail prices as high as $9000. Prospective brides, and their hovering mothers, sisters and friends, line up the night before the doors open at 8:00am to join in the rush. Most wear the same color shirts, and have ways of communication amongst each other using whistles or bells in order to help locate one another. In the first few minutes, patrons run as fast as they can and take as many dresses off the racks as possible. The racks are emptied quickly, and immediately the trading begins. Most brides try them on in the aisles, or in front of mirrors, while their helpers run around trying to trade and barter. When a bride-to-be finds "The One" others clap for her.

Young Me, Now Me
Who doesn’t love a blast from the past? Ze Frank has been asking for
submissions for his Young Me/Now Me project, which is being made into a book. People recreate pictures from their childhood to compare how they
looked then with how they look now. Frank has been kind enough to blog
some of the photos he believes are the best submissions he has received
thus far.

Creative Food Rings Designed By Sofia
The era of handmade jewelry has turned everyone from an unknown cool chic playing around with fimo into an artist overnight. Tones of
colorful and unusual earrings, bracelets, rings in the most unimaginable
shapes are available for us to complete our outfits in original way.
However, would you imagine just for a moment to wear your favorite food
on a ring? No, the picture above is not a tasty refreshment, it’s
actually a miniature food ring realized by Canadian artist living in
Japan Sofia Molnar. Her jewelries, named SouZouCreations, are
individually crafted from plastic and glue with a huge attention to
detail and resemble amazingly well the combinations of foods from
reality.I think that those food rings are so amazingly cute, it’s
impossible not to like them, at least a bit. Would you wear them? At
what outfits do you think they would go? I don’t know about you, but
they would make me hungry all the time!
