Long road to the temple

History Velikoretsky procession lasts from the beginning of the XV century. Every year in early summer, tens of thousands of pilgrims from all over the country gather in the Kirov region and are a procession, carrying an icon of St. Nicholas. The current route of the procession passes through the village along the Great River – is 150 kilometers on foot in the transition period from 3 to 8 June. The faithful carry the icons, stopping prayers and Blessing of the Waters.
Last year Velikoretskoe procession was attended by 25,000 people.
